Weather is hot and bushfires are a threat but everybody is out and about enjoying the summer. In the shops it's 'sale' time, a great time for bargain hunting.

The fields filled with corn and soybeans are beginning to dry and it is getting closer to harvest. This is the time of year we take our annual field trip to the local nature center to study our prairie habitat. We learn about our native prairie plants, seed dispersal, and spend quiet time on the prairie writing in our nature journals.
